I recommend the following books about dyslexia. All are meant to be read by the general population so no special knowledge of dyslexia or psychology is necessary. Many are what I consider "keepsake books," in that your child or teen can come back to them at different ages and find something new to appreciate each time. Empower your child to learn about dyslexia on his/her own terms by placing one of these books in your home library. Even better, date the book and write an encouraging message that your child. (Be sure to use words they will be able to read on their own!) These books could also help siblings and family members understand your child's strengths and weaknesses.
