Natalie Powell, ET, C-SLDS
Natalie is an Educational Therapist through the Association of Educational Therapists, and is one of only 35 professionals in California that hold the Center for Effective Reading Instruction's highest certification: Certified Structured Literacy Dyslexia Specialist. She also provides dyslexia therapy and assessment at her Placerville office to families from as far as Rancho Cordova, and offers standalone dyslexia assessments and joint neuropsych/dyslexia assessments at the Walnut Creek office of Dr. Sara Schiff, Neuropsychologist.
Natalie received her Postgraduate Certificate in Educational Therapy from UC Riverside and her BA with Honors from UC Davis. A fourth generation Californian, Natalie started her practice in her hometown of Walnut Creek, where she developed a unique understanding of how sensory, fine motor, and speech concerns impact dyslexia while working at PlaySpace Therapy and created the multidisciplinary networking group East Bay Therapists.
Natalie partnered with the Charles Armstrong School in 2025 to perform assessments for applicants and current families and most recently ('26) was selected to contract with the California State Board of Education to serve on the English-Language Arts Instructional Materials Review Panel.
An enthusiastic teacher of adults as well as children, Natalie has presented on dyslexia for Sacramento State's MA in School Psychology program, Carondelet High School, the El Dorado County Office of Education, and interdisciplinary clinics in Los Angeles, among others. Her areas of clinical interest include signs of dyslexia in early childhood, the relationship between speech disorders and literacy, and the impact of verbal and executive functioning strengths on dyslexia compensation.
