presentation approach
In the Age of Google, Natalie believes it's more important than ever that professional presentations offer original content that will keep teachers' interest and pique their curiosity. Natalie's presentations contain thoughtfully selected information gleaned from Natalie's own practice that teachers can't find by Googling, as well as photos and videos from her own sessions. Natalie also provides participants with her colorful, easy-to-read Dyslexia 101 packet filled with information culled over her 8 year educational therapy career. She uses Google Slides to share photos and videos from her sessions, charts, and visuals, but speaks extemporaneously, which makes her approach conversational, casual, and engaging. Natalie leaves 30 minutes at the end of each presentation to answer questions and also answers questions throughout her presentations to ensure teachers feel ready to implement learned strategies.

feedback
I had the fortune of meeting Natalie during a professional development training she presented at our school for dyslexia. Her presentation was thought provoking, informative, and deeply resonated with me, as my son was just diagnosed with phonetic dyslexia. - Allie, Camino Teacher
Our K-8 school is so thankful for the information Natalie Powell provided through our dyslexia awareness training. Teachers now have a better understanding of how dyslexia actually presents in the academic setting. With this knowledge we are better able to target instruction to improve students’ phonological awareness and reading fluidity. - Principal Steve Bryant, Charter Alternative Program EDCOE
Natalie has such a wonderful approach to helping kids learn to read. As a school psychologist working with students, I appreciate her balance of professionalism and keeping things fun. She is very knowledgeable about Dyslexia, and it's clear she loves what she does 😁 - El Dorado County School Psychologist
Ms. Powell shared her knowledge and demonstrated expertise in identifying and remediating dyslexia. She was an excellent presenter who quoted research-driven practices and seemed deeply versed in the field of reading. She is a student-first advocate who strives to find the best methods that work each individual child. We have already taken the knowledge she shared with us to implement in our daily practice. Thank you for coming and speaking to our class. - Sacramento State Students
